Bulk Enrollment Validation Errors for EDGAR Next

When using the Bulk Enrollment template Excel file, a validation occurs upon upload. The Bulk Enrollment Upload Excel file contains a tab titled "Guide" which contains the template's requirements and notes, including country codes.

If the file contains errors during the upload process, they will display on the screen with details about what is causing the errors.

Here is a list of possible validation errors:

  1. Uploaded file type was not the standard template
    You have uploaded a file that does not match the standard template, please try again.
  2. The number of columns must match the template
    You have uploaded a file that does not match the standard template, please try again.
  3. The number of sheets must match the template
    You have uploaded a file that does not match the standard template, please try again.
  4. Data rows must be present
    You have uploaded an empty template, please enter values and try again.

Download an SEC-approved template from the DFIN Enrollment Portal to upload entities for enrollment. Complete all required fields before attempting the bulk enrollment process. See this article for more details.

 

Required fields:

  1. Entity Information
  2. Account Administrator 1: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is required.
  3. Account Administrator 2: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is required.
    This is only allowed when DFIN admin = Yes OR when single member company = Yes.
  4. Emails must be valid: Row #: The field Email is invalid.
    The emails are not in the expected format, please review and ensure you have a @[domain].
  5. State and Country codes must be valid: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is invalid.

  6. State codes must match the corresponding country code - US: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is invalid for the United States.

  7. State codes must match the corresponding country code - Canada: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is invalid for Canada.

  8. "None" must be used when no state code is provided: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is invalid.
    You have entered a country code without a state, please enter "None" in the state field if you are non-US address. For information on correct state and country codes: EDGAR State and Country Codes
  9. Yes/No fields must contain only valid values: Row #: The field 'fieldName' must be either 'Yes' or 'No'.
  10. The Confirmation Quarter must be correctly formatted: Row #: The field Confirmation Quarter is invalid.
    You have entered an invalid confirmation quarter, expected values are 1,2,3 or 4.
  11. The CIK must be exactly 10 digits: Row #: The field CIK is invalid.
    You have entered a CIK that is not 10 digits.
  12. The CIK must contain only numbers: Row #: The field CIK is invalid.
    You have entered a CIK that contains non-integers.
  13. CCC format must be validated: Row #: The field CCC is invalid.
    You have entered a CCC that is not in the correct format.  The CCC must be 8 characters and include at least one number and one of the following characters [@, #,$ or *].
  14. Phone number format: Row #: The field 'fieldName' is invalid. 
    Phone number must be between 8 and 20 numeric characters (spaces and dashes allowed).
  15. Any other reason for upload failure: We detected an unknown issue with your workbook.  Please ensure the workbook has not been altered in any way. 
    Look for additional columns, values not in a labeled column, etc.
